My girls won the state championship tonight in sudden death OT!!!!

We were welcomed back to town by a parade of firetrucks and were escorted
around town before heading back to the high school. Very exciting.

I have no finger nails and the butterflies (especially after brunswick tied
it up in the 3rd) knocked holes in my belly.

I'm still psyched.

Thank God that I'm Canadian.

'Tho, I have to admit, my political stripes have changed. The last
election, (colour me orange), I voted NDP -- it was the singularly,
most depressing moment of my political life, and I've since damn near
forced my head into the proverbial sand whenever politics stuff enters
my pov. Grrrrr. Words cannot describe my antipathy for the events
leading up to such. Tack on overexposure to certain USofA actions,
that saw my view of the average American go from an 8/10 to a 4/10,
(and if it were not for this ng, it'd be a 2/10), and we have a cyn#
that should NOT be entering political discourse.

At least _you_ are/were not caught up in the dreck that is a soap
opera called All My Children. (Or, at least, I _hope_ you're not!)
God help me, I got sucked into that pit of doom after reading fanfic
based on the lesbian storyline of 2003-2004. <shudder> My mind is
still reeling from the vortex of suckitude that was the show. Ugh, I
swear, the misogyny had me screaming at the tv. Gaaaah. I'm finally
exorcising the AMC debacle from my mind. Bleh. It's worse than
"Buffy" and "Birds of Prey" combined...and it looks like I'm gonna
spit out a fic for it soon. <rolling eyes> Feh. My mind, is gone,
gone, gone.

However, the actress Olga Sosnovska, who played one of the lesbians,
is exceedingly gorgeous -- and generates considerable +ve, warm, fuzzy
feelings from her loyal les/bi/straight female fans. Look for her in
"Spooks", or "MI-5", whatever it's called.

AMC...<puke>. I swear, the koalas left for their own private missions
after learning of my...fall...into the addictive cesspool of drivel,
er, pardon, "daytime" television.

Awesome. Good for the girls! This is wonderful -- for them, and for
you! It's nice to hear of their success, especially with your updates
over the last little while. You probably didn't notice them, but
there were certain furry-earred creatures in the crowd cheering them
on! ;-)
