MC was tapping tapping tapping on the screen and when I looked close, I got
a finger in my eye.

I'll stroll into the bar, pull down a stool and blow off the dust. Pull my
sleeve down over my hand and take a broad swipe across the bar in front of
me. Nothing could be nastier than the old Heinekens we got out of a hotel
gift shop in Leningrad back in '86, so I'm guessing there's still some beer
that will please my palate behind that bar.

I've been staying busy, trying to keep a relationship working, raising a
golden puppy, and now hockey season (some things don't change.) I started
reffing about 3 years ago now and was asked to start working men's league
this year. I'm pleased about the increased income, but have realized I also
now need to lay out the cash for a protective girdle and elbow pads. I'd
also like a better 1/2 visor for my helmet. The one I have is tough to see
through and it makes a difference in a fast game.

And of course, now that I'm making some real money on reffing and am
committed to the high school girls again this year, I've got a sore knee.
It's been sore for a few years, but reached the point of talking to a doc.
Next week is the MRI and a surgical consult the week after. I've tried to
get him to agree to a date in March, but he's not biting... unless the MRI
shows things are just minor... Bummer....

Hope all others are doing well. I need to run. There's a cat taking the
door off the hinges from the outside, the dog is pissed she's not been fed
yet, and the coffee finally started brewing. You will all be very proud of
me, as I have finally (just this year) purchased a bean grinder and am now
grinding beans at home.

Sorry 'bout the eye, Steph. But with Halloween around the corner,
perhaps an eyepatch wouldn't be as noticable? Hope the knee problem
turns out to be minor though ... surgery sucks.

Glad to see that we can get some activity going in in the VB.

hmmm...i'm thinking it's a bit early in the morning for beer...make mine a
bailey's and coffee...

i'm gonna pull up a stool here next to steph say a few words about those
stories mc wrote...actually, just the first one, because that's as far as
i got...the revenge story...was absolutely hysterical! :-) in a creepy
kind of way...

meanwhile...i've been busy on the west coast, trying to get my music off
the ground, playing with photography and graphics, getting officially
domestic-partnered, and soon to be retiring from my day job! phew! oh--and
we're gonna have a baby soon, too--a bouncing baby german shepherd girl,
hopefully in december if all goes well.

okay...enough of that...it's 7am and i've got two vet appointments and a
date with a horse scheduled for today. if anyone is remotely interested in
